From the moment you enter, the tone is set. Nothing grand. A simple lobby, coffee or tea waiting on the counter, newspapers available. You can leave your bags in the luggage room if the room is not ready yet. Five minutes, no more.

The rooms, spread over several floors, focus on no-frills comfort. The air conditioning runs in summer, the light wood furniture softens the overall feel, and the flat-screen TV stands opposite the bed. Some rooms overlook the square and the station, with the morning bustle that comes with it. Others, facing the courtyard, offer real silence once night falls; it is best to mention this when booking if peace and quiet are a priority. Two rooms are designed for people with reduced mobility, with step-free access.

On the ground floor, the lounge bar stays open day and night. You can read there, work there, or wait for a train without rushing.

Another practical detail: there is no private parking on site. The solution is just around the corner, at Wodlin parking lot on Boulevard Wilson, at a preferential rate for hotel guests. For an arrival after 7 p.m. or a departure before 9 a.m., the station parking lot does the job.

Pets stay free of charge, which makes things easier for anyone traveling with a dog.
