At reception, the welcome is straightforward. You give your name, get your key card, and are already told about the spa on the garden level or the bar that opens at eleven. The studio or apartment you discover afterward lives up to expectations: proper proportions, a king-size bed, a kitchenette with a cooktop and refrigerator for those who prefer to make a quiet coffee rather than wait for room service. The walls insulate well, as you can tell from the silence that prevails even on a Friday evening.

The historic city center, the cathedral, Petite France, all of that takes a little patience: allow about twenty minutes by tram and bus from the stop at the foot of the hotel. It is not right next door, but the neighborhood’s evening calm more than makes up for it, and a supermarket just across the street is handy for last-minute needs.

In the morning, head to the breakfast room. There you will find the Alsatian buffet, pastries still warm, a selection of cold cuts and cheeses, and an omelette station made to order. The choice is wide, the kind of buffet you take your time finishing before a meeting or a bike ride (the hotel’s bikes are easy to rent to reach the center).

Late morning, head to the Sothys spa. The heated pool at 28 degrees flows beneath a planted ceiling, the hammam plays with the light, and the sauna waits at the end of the corridor. The only downside is that access is not automatically included in the room rate: it is better to book your wellness time in advance to avoid an unpleasant surprise upon arrival.

At the bar-lounge, at the end of the day, you’ll find a pleasant terrace for a glass of local wine before moving on to the Braise by Substance restaurant, where cooking over a brazier sets the tone. For lazy evenings, room service remains available until 11:30 p.m.

One last tip: reserve your table at the restaurant before 8 p.m. on weekends, as regulars from the business district quickly fill the dining room.
